GPUG Fargo Regional Chapter

Exciting news!  GPUG is starting up a Fargo, ND, regional chapter!  Our first meeting will be this coming Thursday, February 21, from 8:30 am until noon.  This will be at the Executive Briefing Center at the Microsoft Campus in Fargo.  Not a GPUG member?  Don’t worry, you can still come (and sign up for membership too)!  We’d love to see you there; for more information, please visit the website below to get registered:

Business Portal 6.0 Availability

With the new release of GP 2013, people have been curious about the newest release of Business Portal.  It appears that BP will be released in March 2013!  A couple of important things to note:

1. Business Portal is now 64-bit ONLY!  There will not be a 32-bit release for GP 2013.
2. Business Portal must be installed in a domain environment.
3. SharePoint 2010 and 2013 are both supported for BP 6.0
4. For SSRS report utilization in BP, you must be on SQL 2008 SP3 (or higher), SQL 2008 R2 SP1 (or higher), or SQL 2012 Standard or Enterprise.

While this appears to be mostly a maintenance release, I personally am still excited about the new version of BP with SharePoint 2013!
